A series of events throughout June in Monmouthshire will raise awareness about environmental issues. Organised by Monmouthshire Community Climate Champions - a partnership of community groups, renewable energy companies and the county council - an exciting programme will focus on energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable living.
The events – dubbed Energy Days – will run in conjunction with EU Sustainable Energy Week which takes place from 19th to 25th June.
In the north of the county, two eco homes designed by their architect owners will open their doors to reveal their energy-efficient properties. Abergavenny Transition Town will interview the owner of The Orchard in Llanfoist about living in his eco home at 2pm on Saturday 17th June followed by a tour. The Long Barn in Gilwern will also offer tours at noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm on Saturday 24th June.
Many more events are also being held exploring electric and hydrogen cars, grow your own, cycling, energy efficiency and more.
